Laura Jobson

Dr. Laura Jobson is an Associate Professor in the School of Psychological Sciences at Monash University, leading the Culture, Trauma and Mental Health Research Group at the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health. Her research focuses on PTSD, depression, and cultural influences on mental health interventions, particularly in non-Western contexts. She has over 100 publications and secured grants from NHMRC, Elrha, and Wellcome Trust. She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from ANU and has held roles at the University of East Anglia and the University of Cambridge.

Education: PhD (Clinical Psychology) from Australian National University (2008), B. Psychology (Hons) from University of New South Wales (UNSW).

Research Interests: Investigates cognitive-emotional substrates of PTSD/depression, cultural adaptations of mental health treatments, and translational interventions for low-resource settings. Current projects include interventions for Afghan adolescents, sleep-circadian rhythms and youth mental health, and trauma-informed practices in global conflicts.
