Dr. Laura Frost serves as Associate Dean for Faculty and Graduate Affairs and Professor of Chemistry at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry (Biophysical concentration) from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Chemistry from Kutztown University. Her roles include leading FGCU's STEM education initiatives and overseeing faculty development within the College of Arts & Sciences.
Her research focuses on evidence-based teaching practices, equitable STEM access, and program evaluation, with emphasis on fostering inclusive learning environments. As former Director of FGCU's Whitaker Center for STEM Education, she has championed innovative educational strategies. She co-authored a chemistry textbook for nonmajors (GOB Chemistry) and led over $3M in grants from the National Science Foundation and other institutions.
Professional Contributions: Holds leadership roles in the American Chemical Society, Textbook and Academic Author's Association, and Network for STEM Education. Active in conference presentations on pedagogy and fundraising strategies for educational programs.
