Dr. Laura Cassidy is a Professor of Epidemiology and Director of the Institute for Health & Humanity at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). She holds leadership roles as Associate Dean of Global Health, Founding Director of the MS in Global Health Equity program, and Research Director of the Institute for Health & Humanity. Her academic background includes a PhD and MS in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of Pittsburgh, alongside a BS in Mathematics and Physics.
Her research focuses on global health equity, pediatric surgery, traumatic injury prevention, and resilience among underserved populations. Notable collaborations include trauma registry development in Nigeria and Nepal, occupational epidemiology studies in Russia and Northern Ireland, and partnerships with institutions like Makerere University in Uganda. Dr. Cassidy has authored over 140 publications and secured funding from NIH, HRSA, and other foundations.
