Laura C. Brown

Laura C. Brown is a Teaching Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Indiana University Bloomington. She earned her B.S. in chemistry from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Boston College under Professor Amir H. Hoveyda (2008). Her postdoctoral work at Harvard Medical School with Professor Jon Clardy focused on natural products discovery and biosynthesis, supported by an NIH fellowship.

• Research spans enantioselective catalysis and microbial natural products
• Developed methods for alkyl nucleophile additions during her Ph.D.
• Elucidated biosynthesis pathways and discovered two novel natural products
