Laura Brooks Rice

Laura Brooks Rice is Professor Emerita of Voice at Westminster Choir College (1985-2019) and Artistic Advisor for Chattanooga Symphony and Opera. An internationally recognized vocal pedagogue, she created/directed the CoOPERAtive Program and taught opera performance courses. Her students perform at major opera houses globally, including the Metropolitan Opera and Washington Opera.

As a mezzo-soprano, she performed with the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. She judges competitions including the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and directs Sewanee OperaFest.
