Laura Blight

Laura Blight is a full-time Lecturer in Commercial Photography at Falmouth University since 2021, also teaching on the BA Photography course. She holds a MA Photography (Distinction, 2018) from London College of Communication and a PGCert in Creative Education (2021). Her research explores domestic environments, materiality, and themes of absence/loss through photography and abject art, using dust and organic materials as mediums.

Key achievements include a 2024 conference presentation on photography and death, international exhibitions (e.g., Arles Festival, Pingyao Festival), and collaborative projects like the Go Abroad Malaysia programme. Awards include the Aurora Leadership Programme (2022-2023) and an Early Career Research Network grant (2023).

Her work appears in publications like Locating the Self, Welcoming the Other (2022) and EXIT Magazine (2021). Upcoming projects include a 2025 conference panel and a 2025 exhibition at Newlyn Art Gallery.
