Laura Behm

Laura Behm is an Associate Professor of Practice and Director of PMHNP Clinical Education at the Simmons School of Nursing. A dual-certified Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP and FNP), she holds licensure in Massachusetts, Maryland, Virginia, and Florida, and is dedicated to fostering compassionate, holistic care in students and patients.

• Education: Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

Dr. Behm’s clinical expertise spans emergency medicine, pediatrics, neurology, lactation, and mental health care, with a focus on perinatal populations. She co-owns Milky Moms, a multidisciplinary practice integrating lactation, women’s health, and perinatal mental health services. As a teacher in Simmons’ PMHNP, FNP, and DNP programs since 2015, she prioritizes creating a supportive learning environment to nurture confident clinicians. Her work emphasizes evidence-based, patient-centered care to improve health outcomes for pregnant and postpartum individuals. Outside academia, she balances her time between family and travel, seeking life’s adventures.
