Laura Bea Lamb is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the School of Business, State University of New York at Oswego. She earned her Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Scranton and holds a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, gained during her prior work in public accounting at a regional firm. Her teaching focuses on financial accounting and auditing, with Spring 2025 courses including ACC 302, ACC 430, and MBA 574.
Her research explores accounting education, financial accounting, and auditing, particularly the psychological dimensions of auditing in virtual environments. Her dissertation addressed the impact of social presence on auditors' professional skepticism. She has published in Strategic Finance and is actively engaged in multiple research projects.
Lamb co-advises the Beta Alpha Psi Honor Society and Accounting Society, co-coordinates the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, and holds regular office hours. She received the Outstanding Student Award for her Ph.D. at the University of Scranton.
