Laura Aponte Becerra

Laura Aponte Becerra, MD, is a Clinical Fellow in Internal Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine, specializing in nephrology and critical care. She holds an MD from Universidad CES (Colombia) and completed a residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Health System. Her research focuses on kidney transplantation trends, chronic kidney disease, diabetes management, and global health equity. Key areas include preemptive kidney transplantation outcomes in lupus patients, insulin’s role in cognitive and metabolic health, and disparities in renal care.
