About
Lars Rosgaard Jensen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Materials and Production, Aalborg University, within the Faculty of Engineering and Science. His research focuses on advanced materials science, particularly oxide glasses, glass-ceramics, and composite materials. He leads major projects such as CIRCWIND (optimizing circular materials for wind turbine components) and MADE4WIND (innovative materials for offshore wind turbines). His work emphasizes fracture mechanics, sustainable cements, and lithium-ion battery technologies. Key contributions include setting world records in crack-resistant glass and developing novel material synthesis methods. Jensen has authored over 120 publications and holds leadership roles in EU-funded initiatives.
Research Interests: Jensen’s expertise spans structural materials, phase separation mechanisms, and material durability under extreme conditions. He explores applications in renewable energy (wind turbine components), sustainable construction, and energy storage systems. His group investigates how microstructural modifications enhance mechanical and thermal properties of glasses and ceramics.
Projects: As PI, he oversees projects addressing circular economy solutions for wind energy (CIRCWIND, MADE4WIND) and advanced composites (AIOLOS). Collaborations include EU Horizon Europe programs and industry partnerships.
Grants & Advising: His grants include funding from the EU’s Research Innovation Program. While no student advisees are listed, his projects involve multidisciplinary teams and PhD candidates in materials science and engineering.
