Lars Nooij serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Languages, Literature and Communication within the Faculty of Humanities at Utrecht University, specializing in the Celtic and Classics subunit. His academic focus centers on Celtic languages, medieval manuscripts, and historical linguistics.
His research expertise spans Celtic languages and culture, analysis of medieval manuscripts, and historical linguistics, with particular emphasis on Insular Celtic traditions. Teaching responsibilities include foundational and advanced courses across multiple Celtic languages and historical contexts.
Nooij actively contributes to academic discourse through editorial leadership, currently serving as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Kelten: Mededelingen van de Stichting A. G. van Hamel voor Keltische Studies since 2019 after joining its editorial board in 2015.
