Lars Eide

Lars Eide is a Professor and Research Leader at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo (UiO) and Oslo University Hospital (OUS). His work focuses on mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) repair, oxidative damage, and its role in neurodegenerative and metabolic diseases. He leads the Mitogroup research team and manages the PhD course "Biomarkers for Clinical Research".

Projects include "Functional effects of mitochondrial heteroplasmy" and "Metabolic causes of mitochondrial dysfunction." He holds a Dr. Scient in Mathematics/Natural Sciences from UiO (1997) and a Civil Engineering in Chemistry (Trondheim, 1992).
