Larry Weider

Larry Weider is a Professor at the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Oklahoma. His research focuses on evolutionary ecology, population genetics, and environmental genomics using Daphnia as a model organism.

• Studied genetic diversity in asexual-sexual species complexes
• Developed "resurrection ecology" through sediment egg bank analysis
• Work spans Arctic rock pools to Laurentian Great Lakes

His lab employs molecular techniques like microsatellites, DNA sequencing, and Next-Gen genomics to examine population responses to environmental changes such as eutrophication and salinization.
