Larry Jacobs

Larry Jacobs is a Professor at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs and the Department of Political Science at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. He holds the Walter F. and Joan Mondale Chair for Political Studies and directs the Center for the Study of Politics and Government, a leading institution for political and policy analysis in the Midwest.

His research focuses on elections, legislative and presidential politics, public opinion, and health care policy. He has authored nearly 100 articles and 14 books, including a forthcoming work on American presidents and a project on the Federal Reserve. Jacobs also co-edits the 'Chicago Series in American Politics' for the University of Chicago Press.

He has received prestigious awards such as the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Investigator Award and book awards from the APSA and ASA. Jacobs is a frequent political commentator and has presented at the National Press Club.

His roles include directing major initiatives like the Mondale Dialogues series supported by a McKnight Presidential Chair award. He actively engages in public discourse on Minnesota politics, national elections, and health policy innovations.
