Larry Engelhardt is a Professor of Physics at Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina. He holds a B.A. in Physics from Gustavus Adolphus College and a Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics from Iowa State University. His professional service includes leadership roles within the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT), including serving as President of the Southeastern Section (SACS) and Chair of the AAPT Committee on Educational Technologies, which received the Committee of the Year Award under his leadership.
Engelhardt is a national leader in computational physics education, co-PI of the Partnership for the Integration of Computation into Undergraduate Physics (PICUP).
