Larry Band is the Ernest H. Ern Professor of Environmental Science at the University of Virginia's School of Engineering and Applied Science. His research focuses on eco-hydrology, urban watershed dynamics, and the integration of natural ecosystem principles into urban restoration. Key interests include tree canopy impacts on flooding, freshwater provision, biogeochemical cycling, and green infrastructure design. He develops computational tools for collaborative watershed management and is affiliated with the Baltimore Ecosystem Study, Coweeta Long-Term Ecological Research site, and Link Lab.
