Larry Alan Mallak

Larry Alan Mallak is a Professor of Practice and Academic Director of Systems Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). He specializes in improving organizational systems through innovative methods, with a focus on empathic design at the intersection of customer needs and system requirements. His work bridges design, engineering, and human-centric approaches to complex systems.

He serves as Director of Professional Development and Continuing Education for the American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM) and is a member of INCOSE and IISE. Prior to academia, he worked as a healthcare systems engineer at Premier Healthcare and as a science reporter for National Public Radio.

Larry's research has been featured in Engineering Management Journal, WORK, Industrial Management, and TEDx talks. His contributions align with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in healthcare, education, industry innovation, and institutional accountability.
