Lance Yarbrough

Lance Yarbrough is Associate Professor of Geology and Geological Engineering at the University of Mississippi with extensive industry experience including positions at Kiewit Foundations, Delta Engineering Solution, and Hess Corporation.

Education:

Research program emphasizes subsurface exploration and remote sensing applications using unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Current projects investigate slope stability monitoring, advanced well logging techniques, groundwater hydrology, and geospatial analysis. Fieldwork includes geohazard studies in Iraq and groundwater assessments across the southeastern US.

Publications demonstrate strong focus on hydrological modeling using satellite data (GRACE), geospatial tool development, and geological characterization techniques, with recent innovations in machine learning applications for groundwater prediction.
