Karolinska InstitutetAbout
Lalit Kumar Parameswaran Grace serves as a Docent (Associate Professor) and Principal Researcher at Karolinska Institute. He is affiliated with the Department of Women's and Children's Health, specifically within the Division for Neonatology, Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Reproductive Health. Dr. Grace leads the Experimental Research team under Kristina Gemzell Danielsson's Reproductive Health/Reproductive Medicine research group, focusing on translational research in reproductive medicine.
- Principal Researcher, Department of Women's and Children's Health, Karolinska Institutet (2022-present)
- Docent, Karolinska Institutet (2021)
Dr. Grace's primary research interests center around understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in various gynecological conditions. His laboratory employs advanced techniques including 2D and 3D cell culture, single cell RNA sequencing, smartseq2/smartseq3, spatial transcriptomics and bioinformatic tools to investigate physiological and pathophysiological conditions affecting female fertility. His work specifically targets endometrial regeneration and receptivity for infertility management, developing non-invasive molecular methods to identify receptive endometrium and good quality embryos for clinical use in assisted reproductive technology.
His recent publications (2022-2024) demonstrate a strong focus on molecular diagnostics for reproductive disorders, with particular emphasis on endometriosis mechanisms, endometrial receptivity biomarkers, and the effects of viral infections like SARS-CoV-2 on pregnancy outcomes. His research bridges basic science with clinical applications, aiming to translate molecular findings into practical diagnostic tools for fertility clinics.
Dr. Grace leads the Experimental Research team at Karolinska Institute, working within a larger collaborative framework that includes clinicians, basic science researchers, and global reproductive health specialists. The team's work on endometrial receptivity, embryo quality assessment, and endometriosis mechanisms represents a significant contribution to advancing reproductive medicine through molecular diagnostics and translational research.
