Laleh Tahsini

Dr. Laleh Tahsini is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Oklahoma State University. She holds a Ph.D. from Sharif University of Technology and completed postdoctoral research at Boston University and Ewha Womans University. Her research focuses on designing cost-effective, clean methods for activating small molecules like CO2, with applications in catalysis, energy, and antibiotics development. Key interests include inorganic/organometallic synthesis, nonheme iron chemistry, and copper-based catalytic systems.

Research Interests: The Tahsini Lab explores novel copper-pincer complexes for CO2 reduction, light-emitting materials, and antibiotics targeting drug-resistant bacteria. Recent work includes studies on axial ligand effects in iron(IV)-oxo complexes and copper-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions under aerobic conditions.

Publications: Over 25 peer-reviewed articles in journals like Inorganic Chemistry, Dalton Transactions, and Chemistry - A European Journal, with a focus on catalytic mechanisms and material design.

Awards: Recipient of the 2024 President’s Fellows Faculty Research Award supporting graduate student research in antibiotic development.
