Lakshmi D. Bulathsinghala

Lakshmi D. Bulathsinghala is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Binghamton University, teaching in the Departments of Theatre, Asian and Asian American Studies, Music, and the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program. She holds a PhD in Philosophy, Interpretation, and Culture from Binghamton University, alongside MAs in theatre from the University of Kelaniya (Sri Lanka) and Binghamton University. Her research focuses on South Asian theatre, cultural studies, and gender dynamics in Sri Lankan drama. She is an accomplished performing artist, having directed and starred in notable works like Bera Handa and the television series Sulaga Mahameraka. Her artistic and academic pursuits intersect in courses such as 'Dances of South Asia' and 'Women’s Lives in South Asia and the South Asian Diaspora.'
