Lakshitha Shamal Fernando is a Research Assistant at University of Moratuwa and visiting lecturer at the College of Quantity Surveying. With industry experience in construction, his research examines disaster resilience frameworks and agile methodologies for community development.

Research focuses on:

• Application of agile principles in disaster management
• Digital twin technologies for resilient infrastructure
• Vulnerability assessment methodologies
• Sustainable construction practices

Contributions to TRANSCEND include Work Package 02 (vulnerable community engagement) and Work Package 03 (collaborative decision-making platforms). Awarded 3rd place in IQSSL student article competition for critical analysis of disaster resilience frameworks. Ongoing research develops systematic literature reviews on disaster resilience characteristics and agile methodologies for improved disaster management practices.
