Laci Mattison is an Associate Professor in the Department of Language & Literature at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), serving as Program Coordinator for the English BA program. Her expertise centers on British literature, particularly Modernism and the works of Virginia Woolf. She is a Series Editor for Understanding Philosophy, Understanding Modernism (Bloomsbury Academic Press) and has co-edited volumes on Bergson and Deleuze. She organized the 32nd Annual International Conference on Virginia Woolf (2023) and co-organizes the International Virginia Woolf Society’s 2023 symposium. Her upcoming publications include Virginia Woolf – Objects, Things, Matter (Edinburgh UP) and the Routledge Companion to Virginia Woolf.
Dr. Mattison specializes in Woolf’s engagement with ecologies, materiality, and philosophical thought. She actively mentors students, with seven former MA students presenting at Virginia Woolf conferences. Currently on research leave (2023–2024), she continues her scholarly contributions to modernist studies and literary theory.
