LaShae Collins

LaShae Collins serves as a Professor in the Department of Africana Studies at San Diego State University (SDSU), where she holds a tenured faculty position within the university's academic structure. Her role encompasses teaching, research, and service responsibilities in this interdisciplinary field examining African and African diaspora experiences globally.

Her scholarly focus centers on Africana Studies, with particular emphasis on:

• Historical and contemporary Black cultural production
• Systems of racialization and resistance
• Diasporic identity formations
• Intersectional analysis of race, gender, and class
• Postcolonial theoretical frameworks
• Community-based research methodologies
