LaKeytria W. Felder serves as a Lecturer in Law at the University of Toledo College of Law while concurrently working as a staff attorney for Project Clean Slate in Detroit, where she assists individuals in expunging qualifying criminal records to facilitate reintegration into society.
Her extensive career includes thirteen years as an Assistant Federal Public Defender in the District of Maryland and Eastern District of New York, representing indigent clients across all litigation phases from investigations to appeals. Prior experience encompasses pro bono civil rights litigation at Holland & Knight focusing on § 1983 actions challenging unconstitutional prison conditions, inadequate healthcare, and excessive force against prisoners and juvenile detainees, followed by a clerkship with Judge Petrese B. Tucker and practice at Shearman & Sterling LLP.
