LIM Yun Fong

LIM Yun Fong is a Full-time Faculty member and Lee Kong Chian Professor of Operations Management at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University (SMU). He holds multiple leadership roles, including Academic Director of Blended MSc in Management (2022–2024) and MSc in Management (2020–2023). His academic journey includes a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology (2005), M.S. in Computational Science from National University of Singapore (1998), and B.S. in Physics from National Central University (1996).

Research focuses on e-Commerce analytics, sustainable urban systems, online retailing, and operations planning. Key contributions include optimizing inventory management, supply chain resilience, and last-mile delivery solutions. His work bridges theory and practice, with notable outcomes like urban consolidation center models and IoT-driven intralogistics systems.

Awarded Chang Jiang Chair Professor (2016–2019), Lee Kong Chian Fellow (2017–2018), and SMU Teaching Excellence awards. Active in editorial roles for Production and Operations Management and guest editing special issues on autonomous logistics and online retailing analytics. Professional activities include keynote speaking at international conferences and board memberships in logistics initiatives.

Grants include over S$1.6M in research funding from Hong Kong RGC and National Natural Science Foundation. Advised over 300+ students, including PhD graduates who now hold academic and industry leadership roles. Research spans cross-border e-commerce complexities, omnichannel retailing strategies, and sustainable operations.
