LAURA DE ROSA

Dr. Laura De Rosa is an Associate Professor at the Department of Life Sciences, affiliated with the Center for Regenerative Medicine (CMR) at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. Her research focuses on regenerative medicine, gene therapy for genetic skin disorders, and stem cell biology, particularly in the context of epidermolysis bullosa (EB). She teaches courses on experimental models in biomedical research, regenerative medicine, and 3D culture models, emphasizing translational and clinical applications.

Her research interests include CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, stem cell therapy, and molecular mechanisms underlying skin homeostasis. Key contributions include advancements in gene-corrected epidermal stem cell transplantation for EB and studies on 3D culture systems for disease modeling.

Publications highlight her work on allele-specific CRISPR editing, COSEB outcomes harmonization for EB, and long-term safety of gene therapy. She collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to address unmet clinical needs in skin diseases and epigenetic regulation of skin biology.
