Kārlis Rācenis

Kārlis Rācenis is a Vice-Dean for Science at the Faculty of Medicine and holds dual roles as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology and Microbiology and the Department of Internal Diseases. He is also a Chief Specialist in Internal Medicine at the Ministry of Health of Latvia. His academic expertise spans clinical and basic medicine, with a focus on nephrology and microbiology.

Education/Qualifications:

Research Interests: His work centers on bacteriophage therapy, IgA nephropathy, biofilm research, and kidney replacement therapies. He leads projects addressing chronic kidney disease management and B cell differentiation in immunological disorders, contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goals in healthcare innovation.

Research Trends: Recent studies highlight personalized phage therapy outcomes, novel bacteriophage isolates, and epidemiological analyses of renal care disparities. His work bridges clinical practice and microbiological innovation, emphasizing translational medicine.
