About
Dr. Kyungbin Kwon serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Learning, Design and Adult Education at Indiana University Bloomington's School of Education. His research pioneers innovative approaches to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computational Thinking (CT) education through embodied learning methodologies and equity-centered design.
His work focuses on developing and evaluating AI/CT curricula for K-12 settings using mixed-reality and tangible interfaces that foster physical engagement with computational concepts. Funded by NSF and DoD grants, projects address critical challenges including gender disparities in tech education and accessibility for rural communities, while investigating how teachers effectively integrate AI literacy into classroom practice.
Dr. Kwon's research program actively supports graduate student involvement through curriculum development and teacher training initiatives. His team examines how learning environments scaffold inquiry, collaboration, and reflective practices to build student competencies in future-ready STEM skills, with emphasis on creating inclusive educational opportunities.
His research group develops practical embodied learning tools that translate theoretical frameworks into classroom-ready resources. The team collaborates directly with K-12 educators to implement and study AI/CT interventions, focusing on real-world problem solving and sustainable integration of emerging technologies in diverse educational contexts.
