Kymberley Barbary

Kymberley Barbary is a Senior Lecturer (TF) and Course Coordinator of undergraduate education courses at La Trobe University's School of Education, based at the Mildura Campus. As a La Trobe alumna with both undergraduate teaching degrees and Master of Education from the institution, she brings nearly 20 years of diverse classroom teaching experience including international assignments to her academic role.

Her research interests focus on:

• Mathematics Education, particularly mathematical reasoning approaches
• STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) curriculum integration
• Teacher preparation methodologies and graduate employment pathways

Dr. Barbary's scholarly work shows consistent attention to cognitive approaches in mathematics education, exemplified by her 2015 conference presentation at the Mathematical Association of Victoria. Her teaching portfolio demonstrates expertise across multiple educational domains from technology integration to teacher transitions.

She has secured research funding through the P-12 Schools Access Teaching Quality Initiative from the Victoria Department of Education and Training (2021-2023), reflecting her commitment to improving educational outcomes in regional settings.

With 15 years of experience mentoring teacher education students during placement subjects, Dr. Barbary maintains a strong focus on practical teacher preparation and works closely with students to maximize learning outcomes and facilitate graduate employment opportunities.
