Kyle Reestman

Kyle Reestman is an Instructor and Director of the Computer Science Learning Center at the University of Nebraska Omaha's College of Information Science & Technology. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science with a focus on Software Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in Game Programming from the same institution.

His research focuses on computer science education, particularly addressing challenges for non-native English speakers and improving TA/tutor training methodologies. Kyle's teaching interests include introductory programming, object-oriented programming, and C language instruction.

He directs the Computer Science Learning Center, supporting student success through structured educational resources. A notable publication, Native Language’s Effect on Java Compiler Errors (2019), explores linguistic barriers in programming education. This work intersects computer science education, software engineering pedagogy, and language learning research.
