Kurt Schmidt is a Part-Time Lecturer at the School of Leadership Studies at the University of New Brunswick (UNB). He is affiliated with the Fredericton campus and works in Marshall d'Avray Hall.

Kurt's research and educational interests focus on Secondary and Post-Secondary Mathematics Education, integrating quantitative approaches to problem-solving. He also explores intersections with Philosophy and Theology in educational contexts.
Community engagement is central to his work: he co-founded the L’Arche Fredericton community, participates in Anglican worship communities, and regularly attends local Farmers’ Markets.
A Colorado native, Kurt is passionate about soccer (played "properly with the feet"), haiku poetry, and language learning (currently studying French alongside his knowledge of Spanish and Swahili).
