About
Kuo-lin Hsu is a Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the Samueli School of Engineering, University of California, Irvine. His research focuses on remote sensing of precipitation and hydrologic system modeling, with an emphasis on developing artificial intelligent techniques and classification methods for hydrologic systems.
He is affiliated with the Center for Hydrology & Remote Sensing (CHRS) and works on the PERSIANN system for analyzing spatial and temporal precipitation distributions using satellite and in situ data. His work also includes watershed hydrologic modeling and cold-season precipitation type classification (rain/snow).
