Kumar P.R.

Kumar P.R. is O'Donnell Foundation Chair Professor at Texas A&M University, holding joint appointments in Electrical & Computer Engineering and Industrial & Systems Engineering. A member of the National Academy of Engineering and ACM Fellow, he earned his doctorate from Washington University in St. Louis.

His research develops foundational frameworks for cybersecurity, autonomous systems, and next-generation networks. Recent projects include secure control systems for UAV transportation, 5G security protocols, and machine learning applications in energy grids.

Practical implementations of Kumar's theoretical work include WiMAC platform for customizable MAC protocols and dynamic watermarking techniques for industrial control systems. He collaborates with industry partners on critical infrastructure protection.
