He holds a PhD in Physiology from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (2014). His research focuses on muscular adaptations to exercise, training, and inactivity, with particular emphasis on skeletal muscle biology, strength training adaptations, and aging-related muscle changes.
Prior roles include Postdoctoral Researcher at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (2015–2019) and Associate Professor positions at the University of South-Eastern Norway (2014–2015 and 2019–2020). He has published extensively on topics such as muscle memory, heat shock proteins, and the effects of resistance training in diverse populations, including elderly and individuals with disabilities.
Key research contributions include studies on myonuclear persistence after muscle damage, the efficacy of blood flow-restricted training, and the impact of military field exercises on physical performance.
