Kristina Schimmels

Kristina Schimmels, a Lecturer at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU), specializes in linguistics and foreign language teaching methods. Based in Vilnius, Lithuania, she has lived there for four years after arriving from China. On April 26, 2017, she and MRU students Margarita Vozniouk (Israel) and Paulina Tručinskaitė visited two Lithuanian gymnasiums to discuss academic programs and her multilingual, multicultural background.

• Heritage: U.S.-born Schimmels holds a Native American Indian identity card (Choctaw Tribe), with German and Scottish ancestry.
• Academic Role: Teaches Translation and Editing and English for Specific Purposes and the Second Foreign Language programs at MRU.
• International Engagement: Participated in Erasmus Exchange program outreach, highlighting MRU’s double degree opportunities.
