Kristina Huneault is Professor of Art History at Concordia University and former University Research Chair. She founded the Canadian Women Artists History Initiative and holds a PhD from the University of Manchester. Her research examines Canadian art through feminist and decolonial frameworks, focusing on women artists, material culture, and 19th-century visual culture.
Current work explores relationships between settler and Indigenous artistic practices, identity formation, and colonial legacies. She combines historical research with theoretical analysis to reinterpret Canadian art history through critical perspectives on gender, colonialism, and materiality.
