Kristina Ames

Kristina Ames, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oncology (Medical Oncology) at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and serves as Assistant Director for Cancer Research Training and Education Coordination at the Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center. Her work bridges biomedical research and education, focusing on training the next generation of researchers.

Dr. Ames leads programs such as BEYOND ALBERT (a high school research initiative), the Einstein Discover Research Program for Lehman College students, and collaborates with BOLD Internship Program and Einstein's science outreach programs like SURP and Einstein PREP. Her research interests include the role of Class 1A PI3K in hematopoietic stem cells and autophagic cellular recycling mechanisms.

She oversees cancer education training pipelines, emphasizing multigenerational mentorship and addressing educational gaps in biomedical research. Her administrative roles involve strategic planning for training programs through leadership and analytical skills.
