Kristin Haug is a researcher at the University of Oslo's Department of Scandinavian Languages, Faculty of Humanities. Her work focuses on dialectology, gender systems in language, grammar, and historical language change. As a PhD student, her project investigates the gender system in the Voss dialect through diachronic and synchronic analyses.

Kristin holds a Master of Science in Nordic Languages, obtained in 2019, with a thesis titled "Kor held -a seg lengst, og er han genusmarkør?" (Translation: "Who keeps the -a ending the longest, and is it a gender marker?"). Prior to her academic studies, she worked as a Norwegian teacher at the high school level, bringing practical language teaching experience to her research.
