Kristin Gensmer is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Anthropology and Geography at Colorado State University. She holds an M.A. (2012) and B.A. (2007) in Anthropology from CSU. Her research focuses on the archaeology of the Great Plains and Rocky Mountains, with specialties in prehistoric/historic archaeology, gender studies, leisure culture, and cultural resource management. She has seven years of professional experience across multiple U.S. states conducting archaeological surveys, excavations, and historic structure documentation.
As president and co-owner of Centennial Archaeology, LLC, she provides Cultural Resource Management consulting specializing in federal/state compliance. She teaches courses like ANTH140 (Introduction to Prehistory) and ANTH492A (Seminar in Gender and Archaeology). Over 25 technical reports authored highlight her expertise in artifact analysis, archaeological documentation, and regulatory compliance.
