Kristin English

Kristin English serves as Associate Professor of Business Administration at Alaska Pacific University (APU), bringing her lifelong Alaskan perspective and Tlingit/Aleut heritage to academia. An enrolled tribal member of the Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska (CCTHIA) and original shareholder of Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI), she integrates Indigenous viewpoints into her teaching.

Her educational background includes an MBA from UCLA. As a member of APU's Institute of Business and Public Policy, she teaches diverse courses spanning Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, and Strategy, alongside specialized subjects in Alaska Native Governance and the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA).

Professor English emphasizes collaborative, multi-dimensional learning environments where knowledge flows bidirectionally between instructor and students. Her professional philosophy focuses on organizational management that balances financial sustainability with holistic stakeholder consideration—including employees, environmental impacts, and socio-economic contexts—drawing from her executive experience in both for-profit and non-profit sectors.

Outside academia, she pursues yoga, travel, running, and gardening while maintaining her characteristic openness to new experiences and adventures.
