Kristi Rau McIntyre serves as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Theatre within the College of Humanities at Coastal Carolina University. She has been a dedicated faculty member at CCU since August 2002, teaching across multiple disciplines including Theatre, Communication, Humanities, Fine Arts, Visual and Performing Arts, First Year Experience, and the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program.
Her educational background includes:
- M.F.A. in Acting from Virginia Commonwealth University (2001)
- B.A. in Theatre and Communication from North Carolina State University (1998)
McIntyre specializes in Actor training methodologies with expertise in the Meisner Technique, Theatre of the Oppressed, and Applied Theatre. Her teaching approach integrates professional performance experience with yoga practices (as an RYT-certified instructor) to help actors connect mind and body. She teaches Principles of Dramatic Analysis, Acting I, Acting I Studio, Acting for the Non-Major, Creative Dramatics, World Dramatic Literature, and Applied Theatre.

McIntyre demonstrates exceptional commitment to student development through mentorship and serving as faculty advisor for numerous student productions including 'In the Blood,' 'Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again,' 'The Women of Lockerbie,' 'How I Learned to Drive,' 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time,' 'Mahala Island,' and 'Freedom Summer.' She actively contributes to the theatrical community through leadership roles in the Southeastern Theatre Conference and South Carolina Theatre Association, having held positions including State Rep for South Carolina, Vice-President of States, and College and University Chair. As an experienced adjudicator, she has evaluated productions across professional, secondary, and community theatre divisions throughout the southeastern United States.
