Kristen Walker

Kristen Walker serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Modern Languages within the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Mississippi, where she has been a faculty member since fall 2018.

Her academic credentials include:

• Master of Arts in French from The Ohio State University (1998)
• Bachelor of Arts in French (minor in English) from Centenary College of Louisiana (1996), summa cum laude

Specializing in French language instruction and cultural immersion, Ms. Walker develops curriculum across all proficiency levels with emphasis on experiential learning. Her expertise extends to environmental themes through the Green Paris Study Abroad program, which integrates language acquisition with sustainability studies in an urban context.

She has co-led student groups to Paris for the Green Paris program alongside Dr. Sara Wellman for two consecutive summers, building on prior teaching experience at The Ohio State University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Belmont University. Her pedagogical approach incorporates undergraduate research traditions from her own academic journey, including founding roles in Pi Delta Phi honor society and Le Tintamarre French newspaper.
