Kristen Scherrer

Kristen Scherrer, PhD, is an Assistant Professor and Director of Graduate Studies at the UNC School of Medicine, UNC-Chapel Hill. She earned her PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Mississippi, followed by postdoctoral fellowships at Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies, the University of Florida, and Stanford University. Her research bridges translational neuroscience and education, focusing on neuropsychiatric disorders, substance abuse, pain, and TMS therapies. She advocates for evidence-based teaching methods to enhance student outcomes. Before joining UNC in 2020, she taught Neuroscience and Psychology at Santa Clara University.
