Kristen R. Moore

Kristen R. Moore serves as Associate Dean for Equity and Inclusion and Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering Education at the University at Buffalo. She holds a joint appointment in the Department of English. Her research focuses on technical communication, justice initiatives in engineering, and social justice approaches to pedagogy and research.

Education includes:

• BA, English Literature and Music Performance, Blackburn College

Research examines citation politics in engineering education, coalition-building for social justice, and mentoring models for women in technical fields. Recent publications address Indigenous language education, regulatory writing in engineering, and exclusionary experiences in STEM.

Awards include the SEAS Justice Award (2022), ASEE Best Diversity Paper (2021), and NCTE Best Book Award (2021) for Technical Communication After the Social Justice Turn.
