Kristen Pecora

Kristen Pecora is an Adjunct Instructor at the Department of Health and Human Physiology, University of Iowa, teaching HHP:2130:0EXW Human Development Through the Lifespan. She is also employed at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital as a child life specialist since 2013.

• BA in Psychology with a minor in American Sign Language & Deaf Studies
• MA in Leisure Studies with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation/Child Life

Research Interests

Kristen's research focuses on therapeutic recreation and child life, particularly on interventions that improve patient experiences in healthcare settings. She briefly participated in a research project analyzing the effects of treatment on young patients with leukemia and is actively involved in facility dog programs to enhance pediatric care.
