Krishna R. Veeramah

Krishna R. Veeramah is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolution at Stony Brook University. His research focuses on evolutionary genomics, population genetics, and paleogenomics, with applications to human and non-human primate evolution, ancient DNA analysis, and the genetic basis of diseases like epilepsy.

• Education: B.Sc. (2003) and Ph.D. (2008) from University College London under Mark Thomas.

His work spans fine-scale studies of human genetic variation in sub-Saharan Africa, comparative genomic analysis of apes, and ancient DNA research in Migration Period Europe. Recent projects include PNAS and Molecular Ecology publications on medieval European elites and Antarctic penguin population dynamics.
