Krishna Behara

Krishna Behara is a Research Fellow in Transport Engineering at Queensland University of Technology. His work integrates data science with transportation systems analysis.

Education includes:

• Ph.D. in Transport Engineering from QUT
• M.S. in Transportation Engineering from BITS Pilani, India
• B.S. in Civil Engineering from BITS Pilani, India

Research focuses on transport data analytics, traffic modeling, travel behavior, and discrete choice models. Current projects with TMR include statistical analysis of heavy vehicle crashes, travel behavior studies, and evaluation of signalised corridors.

Awarded the 2020 SIDRA SOLUTIONS Postgraduate Award for doctoral research on origin-destination matrix estimation using big traffic data. Also received 2021 seed funding for Traffic Anomalies Detection using Multi-context Data Analysis.

Professional memberships include Institute of Transportation Engineers and Transport Australia. Prior experience includes roles at India's National Rural Roads Development Agency and academic positions in civil engineering.
