Kris Peeters is a full Professor and chair of the Department of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Antwerp. He actively contributes to research at the intersection of Bakhtinian discourse theory and translation studies, with a particular emphasis on the poetics of literary translation and retranslation, dialogism, and theoretical frameworks in translation. Additionally, he co-coordinates the James Joyce in Translation Centre and serves as Treasurer of the Conseil Européen pour les Langues / European Language Council.
His research focuses on exploring how dialogism shapes literary translation practices and retranslation phenomena, contributing to the theoretical advancements in translation studies. He is also a member of the TricS-research group, which supports interdisciplinary research in translation and interpreting.
