Dr. Koku G. Nonoa is a postdoctoral researcher at the Université du Luxembourg since June 2019, focusing on transcultural theatre aesthetics and hyper-diversity in European and Canadian contexts. His academic journey includes a doctorate in Literature and Cultural Studies from the University of Innsbruck (2018), with a dissertation on countercultural tendencies in postdramatic theatre. He holds a DEA in Multidisciplinary Studies from the University of Lomé (2007–2008) and a Master’s in intercultural German studies from the same institution (2001–2006).
His research interests span postdramatic theatre forms, transculturality, migration in contemporary theatre, and critical border studies. He has held prestigious fellowships such as the Marietta-Blau-Stipendium (2016–2017) and a Postdoctoral Grant from the Luxembourg National Research Fund (since 2019). Notably, he co-edited Postdramatisches Theater als transkulturelles Theater (2018) and contributed to interdisciplinary volumes analyzing theatre’s role in migration discourse and transcultural conflict resolution. His work bridges European and African theatrical practices, emphasizing institutional critique and intermedial performance.
